What to Expect
Initial Interview
Your first session is all about understanding your concerns and beginning the journey to feeling better. Dr. Hazzouri will ask questions about your current situation, past experiences, relationships, and important events in your life. This is the start of your personalized evaluation.
Assessment
Following the interview, you’ll complete several rating scales, and others in your life (e.g., parents, teachers, partners) may do so as well. This step adds objective measures to the diagnostic process, ensuring an accurate and thorough understanding of your needs.
Feedback Session
After your assessment, Dr. Hazzouri will explain the findings, discuss her diagnostic impressions, and offer treatment recommendations tailored to your needs. Together, you’ll decide on the best course of action. If you choose to proceed with therapy, you’ll schedule your first session and begin working toward your goals.

Starting January 1, 2022, out-of-network providers are federally mandated to provide patients a “good faith estimate” that outlines the expected cost of treatment. This is incorporated into the initial paperwork that we require all new patients to complete prior to beginning their work at Hazzouri Psychology. No, Dr. Hazzouri is an out-of-network (OON) provider. NOTE: This does NOT automatically mean that you can't use your insurance benefits! If you have something called "out of network mental health benefits" on your insurance plan, you can submit your invoices for reimbursement. OON benefit means even if you see a clinician who is not on their list of approved “in-network” providers, you may be eligible for some reimbursement of session fees.
Dr. Hazzouri provides invoices, or “superbills” for you after each session. These superbills include all of the information needed to file an insurance claim. Many clients submit these directly for reimbursement and are reimbursed anywhere from 30%-100% depending completely on their insurance company and plan. In Dr. Hazzouri’s experience, it’s usually between 50% and 80%.
Dr. Hazzouri encourages you to contact your insurance provider and ask "Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits on my plan"? Usually there is a member website or phone number on the back of your insurance card that you can call to speak to a representative.
Here are some questions to ask:
Do I have “out of network mental health benefits”?
If so, how much per session or what percentage of my session fee can be reimbursed?
Do I have a deductible I need to meet first before being eligible for reimbursement? If so, what is it?
How do I submit claims in order to receive reimbursement?
What information is necessary in order to submit my claims?
How long on average does it take to receive my reimbursement check?
Do I have a session limit or is there any pre-authorization from my therapist required?

No, Dr. Hazzouri does not assist in submitting any insurance-related invoices, yet she does provide everything to you that you need to do so on your “superbill.”
